Dr. Sheldon Steinmetz graduated from Glasgow
University Veterinary College in 1987. He also holds a Bachelors Degree
from Purdue University and a Masters Degree from the University of
Florida. He has been a Partner/Owner at Mill Plain Veterinary Clinic
since 1989. His primary interest is surgery though he very much enjoys
the daily interaction with our clients and their pets. |

Dr. Cheryl Chappa
grew up in Westport, CT and has been surrounded by animals her entire
life. As a child her two goals were to become a veterinarian and to ride
horses. She attended the University of Vermont were she got to ride
horses while she completed a degree in biology. Then she was accepted to
Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine and finished her
veterinary degree in 1992. Her first veterinary job was in a mixed
animal practice in upstate New York. After that she worked in a small
animal practice in Fairfield, CT. She joined Dr. Steinmetz at Mill Plain
Veterinary Clinic in February 1998.
She now lives in New Fairfield with her husband, son, 3 dogs, 3 cats, l
turtle, l hedgehog and an assortment of fish. She does get to enjoy
horseback riding when she is not trying to keep up with her young son.
Dr. Chappa enjoys medicine and watching puppies and kittens grow into
cherished family members. |

Dr. Jean Quaintance
was raised in North Salem, NY where she was an avid horseback rider and
animal lover. She graduated from Wooster School in Danbury and received
a B.A. from Colorado State University. She began working for Mill Plain
Veterinary Clinic in 1995 as a technician and decided to pursue the path
she always wanted and become a veterinarian. After moving to California
so her husband could go to acupuncture school, she went to University of
Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine and
now works for the clinic that taught her how to be a successful
technician. Dr. Quaintance became a junior partner of the
practice in 2008, and is looking forward to a
long and fulfilling career helping animals and their families.
Dr. Quaintance lives in Danbury with her husband, 5 dogs, and two
cats. Her interests include ophthalmology,
dermatology, and bulldog medicine.
